The Kara Ada

boat picture

Kara Ada is turkish built custom ketch motor-sailor of 63 tons gross. It is 60 foot on deck with a beam of just under 18 feet.

She is a flush deck design with  inside helm and lounge. There are 4 staterooms forward, each with en-suite heads. Mid-ship has saloon and galley then engine room under the lounge and two aft cabins with not quite standing head room.

Kara Ada is powered by a 300 horse Cummins factory-marine engine. Has 550 liters of diesel, 1500 liters of fresh water, and 1000 liters of waste water tankage.

She is a motor-sailor with a top speed (clean hull, calm water) in excess of 11.5 knots, but isn't too shabby under sail either as we've had her up to 8.5 knots and is very comfortable at 4.5 to 5 knots.

For services and fun we have a rather flexible dingy (12 foot with 4 hp motor) that also doubles as taxi, fishing boat, cargo ship, and "sports car" for Brian. This stout little dingy has been named "Dauntless" by her captain (Brian), It has been totally refit this last year and is unsinkable (I know you've heard that before... but we've proven this).  For something a bit slower we have a sailing dingy of 10 foot that will comfortably sail with 2 adults, as well as a one person kayak for "wave jumping".
